Galataria's Echoes by Gail Brown
Galataria teeters on the brink of destruction.
At least, the human population does. The rest of the world has been rescued.
At what cost?
Earth stumbles along the path to the Devolution War Galataria fought generations ago.
Dreams begin to cross the dimensional boundary between Galataria and Earth. Dreams of people and places that don't match the lived experiences of the receivers.
For Kalara and Leonard on Galataria, the dreams appear like nightmares, a haunt of a past best forgotten.
For Shalin and Jendal, the dreams of Galataria are peaceful and serene. A beauty in life they have never seen.
Stress builds in both worlds. Although the connection falters, it soon becomes the only way to save Galataria.
Ties bind them together, between worlds.
Bringing a bit of both worlds across the bridge into the other.
Both worlds are threatened with ideas, and a life most don't recognize, and many fear.

Quotes from Galataria's Echoes
Blaise looked at the gateway to Genetica. "Shame. The men who survived the Devolution War were ashamed of what other men had done. To themselves, to each other, and to women. The women also felt shame. It was a way to prevent further shame. To begin the healing." (Chapter 21)
Kalara handed a small stick to Narona to pass to Gilbertan. "It was so easy to teach you everything Leonard. All I ever had to do was give you the tools and information, and you absorbed it. Not at all like talkie Arilla. Poor girl, so similar to my parenta, never could focus on anything, not even with her constant chatter." (Chapter 15)
Parenta nodded. "His dreams reach you. You can reach him." (Chapter 37)
"No one wants the memory of the Devolution War to return." Leonard tossed the small stick into the fire. "We need you. We need those genes. We almost died during the war. And again a few generations later." (Chapter 40)
"In most villages, since the war. They set the time to reopen living together for when they hoped our genetics would have forgotten the fear men caused, to each other, and to women. Leonard lifted his hand to wave to the approaching boat. (Chapter 40)
Jendal smiled. It was like learning a new language. Something he could do. The mask was slipping off here. The one he had worn so long on Earth. Even if it never slipped off fully, his daughter would never have to wear a mask on Galataria. (Chapter 40)
"I'm not sure about me." Jendal stepped back as Perrin threw the line to Leonard. The mask had slipped back on as they talked out loud. He hoped the mask soon slipped away into the lapping river water, to be washed out to the sea. (Chapter 40)
"Not just you. She knows she has to. She wants to be a communicator between quiet people like us, and chatty people like her." Opal smiled. "Not sure if she will be successful." (Chapter 26)
"The most difficult part of dealing with invasive species." Opal pointed to a shooting star. It may have been a piece of space debris burning up as it entered the atmosphere. "How do we actually know what is native here, and if none of the native species are here now, can they thrive here again? Has it changed too much for them to survive? At what point do invasive species become the native species?" (Chapter 30)
Jendal's mother, Shalin, leaned forward to be sure no one was in sight. "Court ordered abuse was still abuse. If I had done those training techniques to you by my choice, I'd rightfully be in prison." (Chapter 28)
"It wasn't you." Uncle Henry touched Aunt Zalena's hand. "It was the world we live in. You saved countless people. It isn't right." (Chapter 22)
