Today's #ShortStory #Submission Portal is #Submittable.

Submittable has a somewhat limited search feature. For some reason, I cannot find markets by searching for their names 9 out 10 times.

They do have (market) fee and no fee searches, as well as deadline, or no deadline searches.

Markets do generally provide direct links to their submission portal page.

You can save a cover letter template. Follow markets, and save specific openings.

There used to be a newsletter.

At one time, you could log into the Submittable program and submit your stories, maybe more than one to different markets.

Now, whenever you click on a market page, you have to log in again.

It kinda defeats the point of a portal.

I was able to update my submission email, with customer service help a few days ago.

In order to re-follow every market I followed, I had to go to my Market Scrivener, and click on every single Submittable link, log in every time, and click follow.

There is no way that I can find to tell Submittable to not show specific markets again. Those might be foreign language, location specific, or others that are not short story markets.

Even with Submittable's flaws, I fully recommend it.

It is possible I don't comprehend their complex search feature.

I do value the saved opportunities and following options.

I do hope the newsletter of opening and closing opportunities returns, now that I have an updated account with newly marked follows and saves.

Submittable is a submission portal mostly used by the drabble and fiction markets I follow. though there are a few other genres as well.
