I do not have all markets on here, only ones I might send to.

I will list them to my best understanding of their open dates. These may change. Always check before sending.

Artificial Intelligence Concerns

I do not have all markets on here, only ones I might send to.

I will list them to my best understanding of their open dates. These may change. Always check before sending.

No response markets will be removed from these lists.

For the curious - AI Concerns means that the market has an against AI statement that could include barring authors who use assistive technology, or who are autistic, English as a second language, or have other cognitive and written language differences.

Artificial Intelligence Statement -

I am unable to figure out which specific programs other people are including in AI.

As a deafblind, autistic, arthritic, and potentially dyslexic author I do, and for the last 15 + years, have used the following artificial intelligence:

Grammar check
Online Dictionary
Online Thesaurus
Spell check

Occasionally (On my Mac):
Dictation
Speech

I write in:
Pages on my Mac computer (Pages, Numbers)
Libre Office (Calc, Draw, Writer)
Scrivener

I design book covers in:
GIMP
Libre Office

I should be using a screenreader and braille display, if I could retain the complicated directions.

Screenreaders I have used:
VoiceOver (unsuccessfully)
Over a decade ago attempted to use JAWS
Over a decade ago, I also unsuccessfully attempted to use Dragon dictation. It offered to uninstall Windows!

In the past, I have used:

Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
LibreOffice (Calc, Draw, Writer)

For browser research, I currently use:

Duck, Duck, Go,
(pre 2023) Bing,
(pre 2023) Google

Personally, I do not have a problem with people using assistive technology to transcribe and share the word trains in their brains.

Some assistive technology that I do not use include: switches, and other personalized and specialized equipment. Use of these tools should not be held against authors, as these authors often have to work three or four times as hard while using these tools, as able bodied people do without them.

There are markets that consider me less than human for needing these disability accommodations. A few specifically deny the allowance of spell check, or grammar check, for authors.

Most market AI statements are unclear, and written just above, or below, their diversity statement.

The majority are totally unspecific about which programs they include, and which they exclude: AI is not allowed.

So, when a disabled author reads both statements, they contradict each other.

Which computer Assistive Technologies are allowed?

Are any allowed?

Braille Display?
Dictation?
Dictionary?
Spell Check?
Grammar Check?
Research?
Screen Reader?
Speech to Text?
Switch?
Text to Speech?
Thesaurus?

If you are a member of any, or multiple, disabilities, these AI Concern markets may ban your submissions, and never tell you that they have blocked you submissions, or tell you why.

If the are a non-simultaneous market - with no response, and an autoAI block on, your story may never receive a rejection. You could spend the rest of your life waiting to hear from them.

If a market does not clarify exactly which programs they consider Artificial Intelligence, then I will continue to submit stories, using the same programs I used before Artificial Intelligence became an issue in 2023.

After all, even using a computer, and sending email are forms of artificial intelligence.

I seriously doubt most those markets against Artificial Intelligence want to go back to reading hand written, and snail mailed stories. Including the expense for the author, and the wonder if the mail process lost the submission.
