Inspirational Scientists - Simon Winchester

Published - September 21, 2016

1944 - Present

Simon Winchester has written many books that include science, especially earthquake science. Some of the most well known include: The Map That Changed The World, Krakatoa, Atlantic, A Crack in the Edge of the World America and the Great California Earthquake of 1906. These books, especially the last one, portray life during specific events. These aspects may not be pretty. They bring out the little points most people never think of, yet, they will develop into the largest issues humans face during these catastrophic times.

I researched and studied each of the above mentioned books before writing Trails 1: Trails Through the Fault Lines and Trails 2: Trails Through the Volcano. His writings made me think about how people feel when they are cut off from things they are accustomed to, such as electricity, running water, safe shelters, or buying food from other people. I would recommend reading his books for an indepth look at people living in difficult circumstances.
