Cracks In The Walls - Abagail Brown

Updated: Aug 23

Survivors know no other life.

Abuse often starts before awareness of self, and others.

Abuse is normalized.

Questions lead to life threatening consequences.

A few escape.

Read their histories.

Recognize those you know who may need a nudge to acknowledge the abuse they suffer from in their daily lives.

Prevent continuing the vicious cycle of so many who merely exist throughout their lives.

The original working title for this novel was The New UnderGround RailRoad. It recognizes the legal red tape of women and women with children in trying to escape abusers. There is no legal way to escape, especially with children. The children, and women have to stay within the legal confines of the abuser.

Sadly, in this novel, the easiest solution was to lock the women and children away where their abusers could not get to them. They may still know they are there. Inside the fences. Trying to prepare for life, a chance they often never had.
