Abagail Brown

Abagail Brown has lived, and continues to live, with the subject matter in her fiction and non-fiction. An abusive past, multiple disabilities, gluten intolerance, and self-publishing are subjects she knows about from the inside out. She lives now in a supportive environment with a loving husband and furfriends Rocky and Mel. With the aid of cats, dogs, and art, she reaches out to help others stumble less along the path to a future for all, regardless of their past, present, or future.

Surviving isn't easy. Often the abuse starts before awareness, and the survivors know no other life. A few escape. Read their tales to recognize those you know who may need a nudge to recognize the abuse they suffer from in their daily lives. To prevent maintaining and continuing the vicious cycle.

Shadows in the Mirror Book Cover. Blue background with shadowed dancer.

Shadows in the Mirror

Mistie escaped a past she'd mostly forgotten.

No one would go looking for her buried past if she lived up to her dreams.

     Or so she believed.

Smoky tendrils wrapped the horrors she couldn't quite remember.

Flickering shadows crept through the mirror to bring her past to her present.

Nightmare generational abuse on a scale she never imagined.

Never knew she had been part of.

      Didn't want in her past.

     Or her future.

     Secrets are twin sisters.

Whether fraternal or identical depends on the shadows dancing in the mirror.
