VoiceOver With the Brailliant Braille Display began after I lost most of my vision and needed to learn to use a screen reader. I researched, and at the time the Apple Mac computer had the best options. I had tried to use the ones available for Windows with no luck. With the Mac, I still couldn't figure it out. When asking for help, the common answer was "It's not like Windows." I hadn't figured out how to use one on Windows, so that didn't help.

      There were no written directions to using a screen reader on a computer, although there were a few guides to the iPhone and iPad. Apparently no one had time to write the directions, only to speak them. My hearing loss type doesn't process spoken words well.

     I had to find the lists of random keyboard commands and learn how to use them with the braille display by guesswork.

     I don't want anyone else to have to go through that, so I created a guide. For me as well, as my memory isn't very good.

     Sadly, I haven't updated the guide for the last few years. I need to do so. However, the original files will help first time learners. Especially if they are using the Sierra system. Every single update brings a few changes. I hope to update to the newer system by program, and to add BRF files.
